The double-bound alder body and multi-ply pickguard that dressed up the ’62 Telecaster(R) guitar distinguished it from its Butterscotch predecessor. And rosewood, originally introduced for cosmetic reasons because maple was prone to showing wear, quickly grew in popularity with the warmth it added to the classic Telecaster(R) tone.

In the spirit of the original, the American Vintage 62 Telecaster(R) Custom guitar has a C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25″-radius rosewood fingerboard. It also features a pair of ’62 Custom Tele(TM) single-coil pickups, a vintage Tele(TM) bridge with threaded steel saddles, and the original Tele(TM) circuit with three-position switch. Fender Twin Reverb Vintage 1966 Blackface Guitar AMP

This amp has the very rare “Better Coils & Transformers” output tranny that Leo used when he ran out of Schumacher trannies. Slightly smaller in size, the output tranny makes this an entirely different beast than a stock, sterile sounding Twin, you wont believe the crunch you can get out of this when cranked to 7 or better. The reason it is so beat is because of its fantastic tone. This is the best sounding Blackface amp I’ve had, and I’ve had many. Great history, a genuine 60s San Francisco survivor. Has the footswitch, Fender logo speaker connection, two period Altec Lansings. Sounds identical to a hi-power tweed Twin. Recently serviced with new caps, tubes, etc., and works perfectly. Everythings here that should be. Step up to the best amp you will ever own. If you like Santana, Bloomfield, Hendrix and great, powerful guitar tones, this is the amp for you.
