I have an ibanez and i love it, they have Ibanez of all prices and aviuosly the more expensive they are the better they are. I really recomend the one I have, its is the R G 2 EX1 it was about 300 at guitar center and i have nothing but good things to say about it. but If you are willing to pay more than that get an expensive ibanez because in my opinion the make the best electric guitars. but i play metal and thats just my opinion

Are Ibanez guitars good for “Pop Punk,Emo,Screamo,Heavy Metal……”?

Posted: January 5, 2009 – 10:56 am

Hey, I have owned 3 ibanez guitars. 2 electric, 1 acoustic.

Are Ibanez good for Emo,Heavy Metal,Pop Punk,Pop Rock, Screamo, Hardcore….. anything in that genres (sub-genres)

Thanks. I own an Ibanez Montage msc550 Red(acoustic/electric guitar)

Ibanez RG420EG Spider Black Electric Guitar

Ibanez ART-100 Silver Les Paul.

Ibanez seems to be the choice for a lot of the young players who like Metal, Screamo , Emo , Hardcore, all that kind of (*ahem* *choke) music.

The Spider guitar is perfect for all that kind of stuff.

Anything with high output humbuckers and the proper effects pedals can be used, however. It’s the effects that really make the sound of any guitar.

the Les paul is probabaly OK for the pop punk and punk.

So I think you’re pretty well set as far as the guitar end of it goes.

what kind of strap do you buy for an ibanez aes acoustic/electric guitar?

Posted: January 3, 2009 – 8:48 am

Any kind you want.

It depends if the guitar has two strap buttons or just one. If it has two, any ordinary strap should do the job.

If it only has one, it will normally be at the broad end of the guitar. All you need is a shoelace. Fix the strap onto the button using the ordinary hole in the strap, then thread the shoelace through the other hole and tie it in a knot around the neck of the guitar, just above the nut, but under the strings. Some guitar straps come with cord at one end for this very purpose. If your strap doesn't, a shoelace will suffice.

Make sure you tie it in a non-slipping knot, e.g. the kind you use to tie your shoelaces.

What is the difference between the Ibanez Rg3efm1 and the Ibanez Rg3exqm1? Which is better?

Posted: December 30, 2008 – 9:56 am

Which one do you think I should purchase? What other electric Ibanez guitars of this price are good?

Hi Ali

Ibanez is a good guitar. Can’t beat the price for a guitar that looks and sounds like the Rg3exqm. Only negatives are, the neck and headstock binding are painted and not real and the tuners don’t feel as secure as my Jackson.
So if you are open minded, check out Jackson. It also has 24 frets, active electronics, basically, pretty similar looking but but but, the Jackson fingerboard is streamingly fast and super smooth.

Thinking about buying a Ibanez RG2EX1 Electric Guitar?

Posted: December 28, 2008 – 11:52 am

All right i've been playing for about 10 months now and i want to get a somewhat good guitar..I was thinking about the Ibanez RG2EX1 Electric Guitar from guitar center. What other good electric guitars are there for under $400..
Oh ya also what do you think about this amp Fender Frontman 212R 100W 2×12 amp…its from guitar center also..
THNX ALL HELP APRECIATEd :D
The best thing to do is to go play a bunch of guitars and see what you like. As a rule, the more you can spend the better the potential quality, however there are some amazing electrics in your price range. you'll just have to be much more carefull in choosing them.

You'll find more consistency in quality between 10 guitars in the $1000 price range than the $300 price range.

Amps are a different matter. They're typically pretty consistent and you will get what you pay for. Either sooner or later (if you continue to play) you'll be wanting a good tube amp. I've found the best way to get a good tube amp without blowing a thousand dollars is via ebay - used.

If you buy a cheap solid state amp or amp modeller, you may get by for now, but they really struggle in a band setting. Solid state amps (non-tube driven) have a touhger time punching through the mix and tend to get blown away by drums and bass.

Happy shopping. Hope this helps some.
